Tobias Seitz

I'm a researcher with a PhD in Media Informatics which I obtained from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. You can think of it as Computer Science plus Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI). I've worked on privacy, safety, and security topics for most of my professional life. Currently, I'm a Senior User Experience Researcher at Google in Munich.
Call me Tobi ;)

At Google...

  • I run research for the Google Account where users can manage their personal info, privacy and security to make Google work better for them. Here, I work with a team of dedicated designers, product managers, writers, and engineers. We relaunched a new experience in 2018, helping billions of users to manage who they are at Google. Sundar presented our product in his keynote at I/0 2019, and the platform is regularly in the spotlight.
  • I've led research projects in collaboration with Google Search, Android, Assistant, Password Manager, and many more teams.
  • I facilitate design workshops, sprints, and strategy planning sessions.
  • I've specialized in Information Architecture and cross product user journeys.
  • I've mentored UXRs, UXDs, and interns.

In my (past) academic life...

When I'm not at work...

  • I have a YouTube channel ("Tobi Loops") where I record myself improvising on the guitar. 150.000+ people have watched those videos.
  • I've released two albums with my Indie-Rock band Ron Jambo
  • I keep learning new instruments
